An Imperfect Archive (2018)
An Imperfect Archive expresses my interest in the relationship between photography, authenticity and the act of remembering. It confronts the notion that a photographic image can conserve memory and remove focus away from mortality.
I have been using found, vernacular imagery gathered from a variety of sources to fabricate a series of narratives. My work explores the notion of remembrance in relation to something or someone only exists to me as a two-dimensional object. A significant part of this process involved me drawing from my own experiences with the family album.
